A student’s perspective
Jonathan Sacks, Student studying medicine
I grew up in South Africa but decided to come to London to study. My brother lives in Golders Green so I already knew the area but of course I was still homesick to begin with.
Being in a Jewish house made the transition to living and studying here much easier – I knew that I would have things in common with my housemates and that finding a Shul and kosher food would not be a worry. I made friends and settled in very quickly and it felt like a home from home. It was great to have my own room and to have the option of spending quiet time there or socialising in the lounge with everyone.
I have really enjoyed my time in the house and am still good friends with many of the people I lived with in the first and second years. I have met people from all over the country and all over the globe with different perspectives on life but with common ground between us and I wouldn’t change any of it for the world!
We are also able to offer short-term lets between June and August. For more information click here
