Q: What attracted you to join jLiving as Head of Housing and how long have you been involved with the association?
A: I joined jLiving in July 2015, initially as a Scheme Manager. I had worked within the Jewish community in previous roles and the idea of working in a larger scheme (Young Court) greatly appealed to me.
Q: What do you feel you bring to the role of Head of Housing and Housing Operations subcommittee member?
A: I enjoy listening to tenants and supporting Housing Managers. I believe I am a good problem solver and I’m instrumental in driving forward positive changes, ie. Tenant Satisfaction Measures.
Q: Did you always have a particular interest in social housing and if so, what is the background to that?
A: Honestly, not really. However, within my current position as Head of Housing, I have expanded my knowledge about everything concerned with Social Housing and Sheltered Housing in particular.
Q: What do you think are the biggest hurdles facing housing associations right now?
A: Health and safety compliance, the rising cost of living, additional Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to meet regulatory standards.
Q: What are your hopes and goals for jLiving for the next 5-10 years?
A: I would like to see us being able to provide more housing for those in need. I hope that I can be a real asset as Head of Housing, learning more each day and enjoying every challenge that comes my way.
Q: If you could choose any country in the world to visit right now, which would it be and why?
A: I’ve just watched ‘Our Universe’, narrated by Morgan Freeman. I would like to go to Tanzania to see the Big Five.
Q: What is your favourite app on your phone?
A:Google Maps – I couldn’t live without it, on account of my terrible sense of direction.
Q: If you could choose any superpower, what would you choose?
A: It would have to be to fly.
Q: If you had 25 hours a day, how would you use your extra time?
A: Maybe I’d finally join a gym if I had an extra free hour every day!
Q:Which actor would you want to play you in the movie about your life?
A:Jennifer Saunders
Q: You have your own late night talk show: who do you invite as your first guest?
A: Jim Carey
Q: If you could learn a new skill in an instant, what would it be?
A: I think I’d learn to play the piano
