Why we are the Jewish community's sheltered housing provider of choice

Location, location, location

jLiving is one of the largest housing associations in the UK working primarily with the Jewish community. We have over 450 properties of varying sizes in an array of locations. Be it close to the shops, a synagogue or by the sea, jLiving has a property that will suit all your needs.

The Association owns and manages 17 blocks of sheltered housing across 15 sites and operates across four London Boroughs, Dacorum in Hertfordshire, East Sussex and Thanet in Kent. The Association also owns and manages a Kosher Halls of residence for up to 27 students in London along with a small number of general needs properties. One of our Schemes is run on a leasehold basis, and the rest are for social rent.

At jLiving, you can live your life your way

Whatever your level of Jewish observance you are very welcome at a jLiving Scheme. Although a faith-based organisation, we respect Jewish customs but welcome and respect people from all faiths and beliefs.

As we house predominantly older people, barring our student community, we want to provide our tenants with the opportunity to mix with like-minded individuals, who share experiences and aspirations.

We are a community

jLiving is proud of our relationship with other communal organisations such as Norwood, Kisharon and Jewish Care.

Support if you need it and peace of mind when you don’t

jLiving Schemes are safe and secure and our dedicated on-site Housing Managers work hard to ensure that all tenants are happy, healthy and safe as well as bringing people together in communal areas regularly to create a community feeling. While we don’t provide care, our staff are here to help organise these services should they be needed for you to remain independent. As a small organisation, we are fortunate to have our own in house Maintenance Team.

Our tenants enjoy the freedom of their own flat – the ability to live independently in their home, behind their own front door – yet know that the Housing Manager is there to call on whether is this just to say good morning or to assist with an emergency during office hours; and there is a call system in each flat to enable access to emergency assistance 24 hours a day seven days a week.

Affordable and value for money

As a housing association and a social Landlord, our rents are social rents and are closely regulated. Our monthly charges include costs for service charges, some utilities and the helpline system.

jLiving is committed to regular market testing for all our goods and services.

jLiving is registered with the Regulator for Social Housing in England – LH0902.
