Today was a sad day for the Maintenance Team as they said goodbye to Summer Work Experience Placement Student, James.
James has spent five weeks working closely with the jLiving electricians gaining valuable knowledge and practical experience. The summer placement was his idea while he wasn’t at college, he returns to college to complete his Electrical Installation Level II at the beginning of September.
He said of his time with jLiving: “It was great experience – good to see different types of work – and I have had a go at chasing a wall for a cooker and helping fit a distribution board, among other things. Tenants were friendly and the rest of the jLiving team were very welcoming.”
Asked what he had learnt from the experience, he added: “Expect the unexpected and learn how to adapt, and how to work around situations and solve problems as they arise.”
It was a pleasure to have James on the team for a few weeks and he is welcome to come back for more work experience another time. Good luck at college James!
