Celebrating 60 Years: Meet Gilda

As part of our 60th anniversary celebrations, we’ve been asking some of our wonderful staff members a few fun questions about their time working at jLiving. Many of our colleagues have been with us for more than 20 years, bringing a wealth of experience, dedication and plenty of great memories!

This month, we’re catching up with Gilda, PA to our Chief Executive, who has been a valued member of the jLiving team for an incredible 26 years!

Here’s what Gilda had to say:

How long have you worked for jLiving?

“26 years this year… Does that mean I am a jLiving millennial!!!!” 😄

What do you enjoy most about working here?

“The people I work with… We have a great team and we all get on well.”

How has jLiving supported your growth, learning or success?

“We have regular training, appropriate to our role and the work we do.”

If you were describing jLiving to a friend, what would you say and why?

“It is what it says ‘on the tin’ – it’s a GREAT PLACE TO WORK!!! That is why we were awarded this certification.”

What’s the funniest or most memorable moment you’ve had at work?

Gilda certainly has a memorable story to share!

“One of our tenants, who was a tiny lady – about 4’8” and very slim – sat on the toilet seat and fell in bottom first, leaving her hands and legs dangling over the edges of the loo. She was literally stuck inside the loo! Fortunately, she was rescued by an astute Housing Manager who came into her flat to check on her.”

Thankfully, it all ended well – and it’s certainly a story that has stayed with Gilda!
