Tenants at Montefiore Court, our Scheme in Margate, remembered Michael Glatstein one of six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust
a few weeks ago by lighting a yellow candle in his memory.![](https://jliving.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/mc-yellow-candle-family-pic.jpg)
Housing Manager, Elaine, researched the family. “I found out that he was the youngest of seven children and was from Ukraine.”
This family picture was taken in 1932 when the eldest child, Gershon, visited his home and family having moved to Israel.
It was to be the last time everyone was together. By the end of the war only two from this photo had survived.
Elaine added: “No one can imagine what this family and all the others in the Holocaust were experiencing during this dreadful time.
“I wish I could have found out more about them, they deserve to be remembered!”
